US soldiers’ remains repatriated

Last updated: 4/11/2010 20:00
A coffin containing remains of soldiers considered MIA (missing in action) during the Vietnam War.

The remains of seven US soldiers who died during the Vietnam War were handed over to US authorities Saturday.

The remains were found in the central, Central Highlands and southern regions by experts of both countries.

US Ambassador Michael Michalak was present as the coffins containing the remains were loaded on to a C-130 aircraft at the Da Nang International Airport to be flown to the US.

This is the 113th repatriation of US soldiers’ remains. The remains of 926 US soldiers have been identified since 1973.
